It's hard to believe that the long interim between legislative sessions is over. Campaigning truly has a way of making the days pass quickly! Now, it’s really wonderful to have the opportunity to return to Jefferson City to continue the work we started here two years ago. As I spoke to my neighbors last summer and into the fall, they told me about their concerns paying for health care for their families; they worried about the sometimes crowded classrooms for their children and whether college would be affordable in the future. College students shared with me their concerns about access to grants and to loans if necessary and the rising cost of tuition. Seniors spoke with me about the challenges of choosing a prescription drug plan, living on a fixed income and finding affordable housing options.
Now that I am back in Jefferson City, it’s time to take those concerns to my colleagues in the House of Representatives. We are elected to serve and that means not only listening to citizens, but acting on their concerns and despite being a member of the minority, I will continue to speak out on behalf of my constituents.
Thank you for the honor of letting me serve you. I have enjoyed hearing from you, and it has been a privilege to voice your concerns in Jefferson City. I continue to approach each day with the same enthusiasm that I had on my first day. With the session over, I will be in Springfield much more, so I look forward to seeing and hearing from all of you.
The upcoming session will be a busy one as we discuss health care, education funding, the MAWD (Medical Assistance for Workers with Disabilities) program, tax cuts, and much more. Without your input, my job here would be impossible. I rely on the expertise of those who know firsthand how legislation can help their lives improve.
I look forward to continuing to hear your concerns. Please send me a message at sara@saralampe.com and let me know what’s on your mind. I hope to hear from you soon!!
Sincerely,

Sara Lampe
